KESH 2020 COMMUNITY AUDIT

Kesh 2020 is a visioning process based on a three-stage approach to developing a comprehensive needs anaylsis for Kesh in the next ten years. The survey recognises the importance of developing a Good Relations Strategy as the foundation for the continuation and strenghtening of community cohesion in the Kesh area and focusing on realistic outcomes that can improve the quality of life for everyone in the area.

Looking forward to the next decade, KDA undertook an extensive visioning process seeking to ascertain the changing needs of the people of Kesh and the surrounding area. The past decade has seen major change in the village such as new housing developments which have altered the dynamics of the local population, recession has impacted on local businesses and the closure of the Duke of Westminister School has severly impacted on the provision of youth facilities.

The next decade will undoubtably bring more changes some welcome and some not. Identifying and preparing for change is a key component of sustainable community development. KDA sought to engage with the local community in a consultative process where issues current and future could be identified and feed into any future strategy for the organisation.
